Amy was born in Elk City, Oklahoma, but has called Tulsa “home” since the age of two. She married her husband, Billy, in 1989 and they have three grown children, Sarah, Adam, and Josie.
Amy brings knowledge and experience to her role at Evergreen, with a B.S. degree in marketing from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Human Relations degree from University of Oklahoma. She most recently worked as an academic advisor at Tulsa Community College, and taught courses on Academic Strategies.
Amy’s experience in churches is extensive. She taught Adult Sunday School for over 17 years in various churches in the Tulsa area, attended leadership training for Precepts Ministries and has led Ladies Bible Studies since 1991. Along with her husband, she has led College and Career and young married Sunday School classes as well as Community and Life groups at Evergreen and other churches. She has also taught 6th grade girls Sunday School, 3rd graders and been an AWANA leader.
Amy has a passion for helping people learn and love the Word of God, wanting them to experience its capacity to show Himself and give us life. She wants to see women of all ages learning and growing together. “People were made for relationship and need connection. One of my goals is to help women connect to God and to each other. Living the Christian life is not always easy, but it can sure be fun, and it is best lived in community with others.”
One of Amy’s favorite things is watching women’s soccer, especially if daughter Josie is playing! She also enjoys spending time with family, playing board games, and reading a good book.
People may be pleasantly surprised, or perhaps disappointed, to know that though her recent degree is from OU, OSU still has Amy’s heart and she will cheer loudest for them whether they win or lose.
