Men of Issachar

Have you read any good books lately?  Would you like to, but you just don't know where to begin?  Would it help to have some partners in the adventure?  Men, you have an opportunity to be a part of a great  "Christian preparation" ministry for men entitled "Men of Issachar."

1 Chronicles 12 describes the mighty warriors that joined King David in the task of returning Israel to the Lord after the reign of King Saul.  The men of Issachar were especially important to David because of their understanding of the generation in which they lived and their insight into the ways of God.  Verse 32 reads, "[the] men of Issachar...understood the times and knew what Israel should do."

The great need today is for God to call out men who understand the times and know what should be done, and who will set up priorities and serve Him in thought, word and deed.

The "Men of Issachar" is a 10 month commitment in which the men will commit to read a book a month and attend a small group of men where they will eat, fellowship, and discuss the book just read.  The books are selected by our Senior Pastor.  He selects books that will broaden each man by selecting books pretaining to Christian Fiction, Prayer, World Missions, Christian Life, Apologetics, Cultural Wars, Manhood, Current Events, Biography, Leadership, and other categories.
